Keilhill Children Services is an organization in north east Scotland which specializes in the residential care of children. All placements with us are commissioned by social services.
We specialize in work with attachment disordered children, as per Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services report, Attachment - Informed Practice with Looked After Children and Young People, written by Judy Furnivall. (www.iriss.org.uk)
As well as in house placements that work in this manner we also work with families and children in the community.
We are based in a semi rural location on the outskirts of Banff in Aberdeenshire.
We are a large 2 storey cottage which can accommodate 4 children at any one time. The cottage has the majority of the living space on the ground floor. The layout of the building has been specifically converted to best manage the safety of the children who live in it.
The Cottage is spacious affording plenty of space for everyone to grow. Effort is continually made when choosing the decor and furnishings to promote the feeling of a family home. We do not use the word unit.
Fields surround three sides of the home and a discreet fence protects from the road. The back garden is large where safe play can be facilitated.
