Psychology is the study of human thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Like any field of study, it has its own special methids and language. These often seem mysterious and complicated to "outsiders," and this makes people suspicious of psychology. They may think, "If others have knowledge about me, then they can control me or use this knowledge against me."
What if we turn this idea around and say, "If i have knowledge about myself, then I have the freedom and the opportunity to control my own life-the freedom to choose my way"? knowledge that leads to personal freedom is the theme of Psychology for Kids Vol.1 - Social pedagogy - what is it?
Social pedagogy is an approach to caring for children which combines education and care, emphasising that bringing up children is the shared responsibility of parents and society. A key principle is that the child is in charge of his or her own life, and the social pedagogue works alongside them rather than dictating to them. - Supporting children on their journey through home placement to adulthood
